Brees, los Santos de buscar mejores resultados playoffs la temporada siguiente

The New Orleans Saints won 13 games this past season but couldn’t get past the second round of the playoffs. They’ll be looking for better results next season as one of the favorites on the opening Super Bowl XLVII odds at Bovada.

Find the complete NFL betting list for the 2012-13 season at Bovada.

The Saints are listed at 8/1 on the opening Super Bowl XLVII odds at Bovada, which puts them behind only the 6/1 Green Bay Packers and the 7/1 New England Patriots. The Texans, Eagles, and Steelers are all just behind them at 12/1 odds to win the title.

New Orleans went 13-3 straight up and a lucrative 12-4 against the spread during the regular season, then thumped the Lions 45-28 in the first round of the playoffs. The Saints, though, faltered in San Francisco in the second round, losing 36-32 in that contest.

Drew Brees went 40 of 63 for 462 yards passing with four touchdowns and two interceptions in that loss to the Niners, and during the season he posted a QB Rating of 110.6 with 5,476 passing yards, 46 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions en route to being named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year.

And those kind of numbers are going to cost the Saints some big dollars, as Brees is a free agent this offseason. The quarterback is expected to come to a long-term agreement with the team at some point in the next month, although the franchise tag is a possibility too.

The Saints also have offensive guard Carl Nicks and wide receiver Marques Colston set to become free agents this offseason, and they’re both candidates for the franchise tag as well – the deadline for that important decision would be March 5.

NFL futures are updated right now at Bovada’s sportsbook.

Blackjack table strategy: When to stand in Blackjack

Before you sit down at a live blackjack table or a virtual one at an online gaming site like WagerWeb.com, you need to know some basic strategy. And there’s nothing more important that knowing when to stand.

To hit at a table means to take another card or cards to your hand you have to try to get as close to or exactly 21. To stand means to take no more cards and play the hand that you have. Some players may closely follow their own strategy thereby taking the least risks. Others will act boldly and ask to be hit when they are showing a 16 for example.

At a blackjack table, the house edge starts around 5.5%, but if you know when to hit and when to stand you can improve your odds by around 3%. Remember that in blackjack you play against the dealer not against the other players as is the case at Texas Hold em poker sites.

Always stand at blackjack table when you have a hand of 17 or more. This excludes soft hands when you are holding an Ace. A hand of 17 or more is considered to be a strong hand. If you have more than 16 the chances that you have to improve your hand are not great enough to risk busting, which is going over 21. This is the case no matter what the dealer is showing. Conversely you can never bust if you have 11 or less than 11, so you should always hit.

When a dealer is showing an ace is the worst scenario on the blackjack table. What you should consider in blackjack is that a card with a value of 10, which are 10, Jack, Queen, and King, is more likely to appear than any other single card value. In this case, the dealer has a blackjack roughly 4/13. Also, the dealer with an Ace has more chances of drawing cards without getting busted. Your approach is to aggressively play the game by trying to get a good hand like a 17 and above, as the dealer is likely to have a strong hand.

What about if the dealer is showing a 10, Jack, Queen, or King at a blackjack table? If the dealer is showing these 10-value cards there is a 1/13 chance they will have 21 and a 4/13 chance they will have a 20. Because of this you should have a strong hand to compete with the dealer. Hit on
16 or less, stand on 17 or more.

When the dealer is showing a 7,8, or 9 at a blackjack table, there is no chance that the dealer will have blackjack, but the dealer has a good chance to have a strong hand of 17 or more. You need a strong hand to compete if they are showing a 7,8, or 9. If you have a 10-value card or an Ace you should hit and may want to double down. Hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more.

When the dealer is showing a 4,5, or 6, you are in a good position at a blackjack table, because they have a good chance to bust. You should never bust if the dealer is showing a 4,5,or 6. It is a good idea to double down if you have a 9,10, or 11. Hit on 8 or less and stand on 12 or more.

When the dealer is showing a 3 at a blackjack table, you are still in a good position here, as their chances to bust are still high, but there is a slight advantage to hitting when you have a 12, as the chances of busting are 4/13. You will want to double down if you have a 9,10, or 11. If you have
8 or less hit and stand if you have 13 or more.

Finally, when the dealer is showing a 2, you are still in a good situation at a blackjack table, but the chances of the dealer busting is less likely, as the dealer getting 2 cards that total 20 is only about 10%. Because of this you should hit on 9, not doubling down. If you have 10 or 11 you can
double down and hit on 12 and stand on 13 or more.

Miércoles baloncesto de la NCAA: N º 17 del Estado de Florida en el Boston College

While the Duke-North Carolina showdown will get all the attention in college basketball on Wednesday night, neither of those clubs are the hottest team in the ACC. No, that would be Florida State, which has beaten both UNC and Duke and is tied with the Heels atop the conference as FSU visits Boston College on Wednesday. Place your college basketball bets at WagerWeb.com.

FSU has won seven straight, coming off a 58-55 home win over No. 18 Virginia over the weekend. Sophomore Okaro White came off the bench Saturday, scored 13 points and helped slow down Virginia star Mike Scott to spark the Seminoles to the win. Scott was limited to only three second half attempts and four points while being tagged by White for much of that time.

Xavier Gibson added 10 points to help White offset some scoring lost from leading scorers Michael Snaer and Bernard James, who combined for just 12 points in Florida State’s seventh straight ACC win. It’s the first time that Florida State (16-6, 7-1) has won seven straight games in ACC play since joining the league in 1991-92.

At the midway point of the conference slate, seven FSU players are averaging more than seven points per game — eight if you include forward Terrance Shannon, who was sidelined midway through the year with shoulder surgery. The only other team in the conference with more than five players scoring that much is Georgia Tech with six players. On the flip side, FSU doesn’t have a true dominant scorer. Snaer, the junior shooting guard, leads FSU with 13.8 points per game.

Boston College enters off a 51-47 loss to Georgia Tech that ended the Jackets’ six-game losing streak. Matt Humphrey scored 15 points and Lonnie Jackson had 10 for BC (7-16, 2-7), which has dropped six straight and nine of 11.

The Eagles feature just one player that scores in double figures in Matt Humphrey and their next top five scorers are all freshman. Boston College has a negative average points differential of minus-8 on the season compared to FSU’s plus-10.2. The Noles again have one of the nation’s top defenses.

This is the only meeting of the regular season between these two. The Noles beat BC in Tallahassee last year, 67-51.

TV: 7:30 pm ET, FS Ohio (Cavaliers), Sun Sports (Calor)

Tuesday NCAA basketball: Purdue Boilermakers at No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes

The are squarely on the bubble when it comes to an NCAA Tournament at-large bid. An upset win tonight at No. 3 Ohio State, however, would be a huge boost to the Boilers’ resume. However, OSU is a big college basketball bets favorite on WagerWeb.com.

Purdue (15-8, 5-5 Big Ten) enters off a 78-61 loss to Indiana on Saturday. The Hoosiers outrebounded the Boilermakers 53-35 and held them to 29.6 percent shooting. Robbie Hummel had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead Purdue. The senior came up limping after he went to the ground in the final minutes, but he played through it. He missed last season with a torn ACL in his right knee. After the game, he said he was fine.

Purdue is 6-1 this season in games following a loss, with two of those wins coming on the road in Big Ten play (Minnesota and Northwestern).

Ohio State (30-2, 8-2) leads the Big Ten by a game over Michigan State. The Buckeyes have won five in a row and enter off an impressive 58-52 win at No. 20 Wisconsin. Star Jared Sullinger scored 24 points and William Buford hit a critical 3-pointer down the stretch. With the victory, Ohio State ended a nine-game losing streak to Wisconsin in Madison — and avoided a repeat of last year’s comeback by the Badgers, who erased a second-half deficit to defeat the Buckeyes 71-67.

Ohio State leads the nation in wins vs. opponents ranked among the Top 25 with five victories in seven tries this season. The Buckeyes own wins vs. No. 7 Florida, No. 3 Duke, No. 7 Indiana, No. 20 Michigan and No. 19 Wisconsin. Losses have come to No. 13 Kansas and No. 13 Indiana, both on the road. The Buckeyes have five players, all starters, averaging in double figures in games vs. ranked opponents. Sullinger leads with 17.5 ppg. He is joined by William Buford (15.0 ppg.), Deshaun Thomas (13.7 ppg.), Aaron Craft (10.9 ppg.) and Lenzelle Smith Jr. (10.3 ppg.).

Purdue is the last visiting team to come away from Value City Arena with a victory, as the Boilers captured a wild 60-57 decision on Feb. 17, 2010, behind 24 points from JaJuan Johnson. Purdue won the last meeting between the two teams, 76-63, and owns an 83-82 edge in the all-time series; Tuesday’s game will be the lone regular-season meeting by these single-play opponents.

Tuesday NCAA basketball: No. 7 Florida Gators at No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats

The University of Kentucky has never lost a home game under Coach John Calipari, winning 48 straight at Rupp Arena. However, that might be tested tonight when No. 7 Florida visits the top-ranked Cats, who are solid college basketball bets favorites on WagerWeb.com.

Florida (19-4, 7-1 SEC) has won seven in a row and sits 1.5 games behind UK in the conference. On Saturday, the Gators beat a good Vanderbilt team 73-65. Leading scorer Kenny Boynton scored 18 points, Bradley Beal added 16 and Florida won its 19th straight at home. The Gators improved to 5-0 on two-day turnarounds this season.  Florida made 11 of 24 shots from 3-point range and forced Vanderbilt into 17 turnovers, most of them coming from the press.

Kentucky bombed South Carolina this weekend, 86-52 win in Columbia for its fifth straight road win. It marks the longest such streak in league play since the 2004-05 team ran off five straight wins away from Rupp Arena in the SEC.

Anthony Davis just missed a triple-double in the win, scoring a game-high 22 points, while pulling down eight rebounds and blocking eight shots, both game-highs. He was named the SEC Player of the Week. Doron Lamb added 18 points, a season-high in league play, while Terrence Jones finished with 16 points, all coming in the first half. Jones also added six rebounds and four assists. Kyle Wiltjer chipped in 12 points, to round out the UK double-digit scorers. UK shot 51.6 pct. from the field, while holding South Carolina to 30.5 pct. from the field.

The 6-foot-10 Davis, a freshman, has 116 rejected shots — the most in the nation and a record for an SEC freshman. Florida has 81 as a team.

Kentucky owns a 90-33 (.732) record in the all-time series, including a 46-8 (.852) mark in Lexington. The Wildcats have won two straight against the Gators including a win in the SEC Tournament Championship game last season. Kentucky has won six of the last eight meetings after dropping seven straight in a streak that stretched from the 2005 to the 2008 seasons.

The Gators have had seven chances to beat Kentucky when the Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the country and fell short each time.

Tuesday NCAA basketball: No Toney Mitchell as Alabama visits Auburn

The University of Alabama’s chances of making the NCAA Tournament took a small hit with the news that one of the team’s top players, Toney Mitchell, has been suspended from the team indefinitely. Bama begins life without him tonight at rival Auburn – Place your college basketball bets at WagerWeb.com.

Mitchell has been a do-it-all type player for the Crimson Tide this season. Along with his 13.1 points, he’s averaging 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 steals. Tide coach Anthony Grant said the decision was made after Alabama’s win Saturday against Ole Miss. Grant said the decision was based on “an accumulation” of things, not a single incident. Mitchell did not start in that game – the first time this season he was out of the starting lineup – but scored 14 points in 31 minutes of action. He also had to leave the game after a blow to the head, and twice left the bench to return to the training room in the second half before re-entering the game.

The Crimson Tide visits the Plains with a 15-7 overall record and a 4-4 record in SEC play after a thrilling, 69-67, double-overtime win against Mississippi on Saturday. Auburn returns home, where it is 12-1 this season, after playing three of its last four games on the road to amass a 13-10 overall mark and a 3-6 record in the SEC.

Offensively, Trevor Releford has led Alabama in scoring in six of the last 11 games and is averaging 13.7 points per game on 60-of-109 shooting (10-of-30 from three-point) with 32 assists during that span. Inside, JaMychal Green paces the Tide with 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game after recording his 24th career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Auburn, which has averaged 58.6 points per game in its SEC games, is led by Kenny Gabriel’s 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Frankie Sullivan is next in scoring with 12.1 points per outing. That pair, combined with Varez Ward, scored 62 of Auburn’s 88 points in its 91-88 loss at MSU.

This is the 144th meeting between Auburn and Alabama with the Crimson Tide holding an 87-56 advantage. However, Auburn has won six of the last 10 games in the series while Alabama holds a slim 14-13 lead in the last 27 meetings. In the last 10 games, the Tigers swept the Tide in 2007 and 2009, split the 2008 and 2010 series and were swept last year although both games were decided by a combined 12 points.
